On day two, the weather was much more amicable, albeit quite windy.
I spent the morning with a lovely woman from Achill Sound with 2 horses, a lovely big cob, and a connemara. Both were highly excitable and very disrespectful.
I want to thank Orla from Calveys of Achill trekking and equestrian center for having me last weekend. I also want to thank the spectators that braved the cold (and rain, we can’t forget the rain).
It was typical Irish weather, but we didn’t let that stop us!
Im so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many horses. I find I am always learning, and glad of it!
I was working with my horse, Mr Kippling today and found some of the recent lessons I had been giving echoing in my head. I am always talking about the importance of being precise with your horse. It may not matter much to us, but it means an awful lot to them.
If I had a dollar (or euro!) every time I heard that sentence, I’d be a very rich woman!
We all love our horses, and they do so much for us, sometime willingly, sometimes not so willingly, but most horses have an “except” in them.
